Despite the cold and rainy weather, two new club
records were broken at the weekend. Lucy Spray broke the junior ladies 100m

Track & Field County Championships 12/13th May; Athletes Information on the nottsaaa's website Mansfield Harriers men's team made an encouraging start in defence of their Midland League division 1 title at Nuneaton on Saturday 5th may. With the British Universities championships on the same weekend, and a number of injuries to contend with, the team went into the match without nine key athletes. However, they showed their strength in depth by claiming a magnificent second place on the day. This was in no small part down to Mansfield's Man of The Match Stefan Wilcockson, who competed in seven events on a scorching day. He also provided the club with it's only A string win in the 400m hurdles in a personal best time of 58.1sec for good measure. Daniel Barkes made it a double success in the hurdles in winning the B string race whilst picking up valuable points in the High Jump, 110m hurdles and 5000m.
Paul Wright produced his usual
gutsy run in the 4x400m relay, making up a considerable
deficit to bring to team
home to victory and round off a very successful start to the
season.
