EGM/Open Meeting
You may recall that we had planned an EGM for Sept
6th, however the main purpose of this meeting was to sanction an increase in the
Membership Fees if required, the Committee having met yesterday and reflected on
the clubs finances have decided that no increase in the fees is necessary for
this year, thus the need for an EGM is no longer required. However, we are
intending to hold a Open Meeting (for Club Members only) on Tuesday 13th Sept
after training venue and date to confirmed - sorry the preferred venue don't
work during the school holidays!
Open Meeting Agenda will include the opportunity for
proposals for Chairman as Ted Grey will be retiring from this position and
questions from Club Members to the Committee. If you have any other items you
would like discussed please put these in writing to Ted by Tuesday 6th Sept.

Matters seem to
be coming to a head in our on-going dispute with the Park Trustees. At the AGM
Club members agreed to accept the new arrangements as an independent club on the
basis of the promises RJS made about a User Agreement. The Club still awaits any
form of Agreement and hence withholds some payments for hire of track.
The Trustees are demanding payment of £2,177.50 for the months of March, February and May and have given the club a deadline date of 1st August 2011 to comply. Without a User Agreement in some form the Club are with holding payment until authorised by members at an EGM. The Trust have been notified. The provisional date for the EGM is Tuesday 6th September at a venue to be arranged.
I am highly uncertain as to the action the Trust will now take. The worst scenario is that they will lock us out from the Park again.
Please feel free to get in touch with me at anytime to discuss this further.

“ MHAC are still negotiating hard to finalise an
Agreement with the Trustees of the Park. This has proved to be a rather
fruitless period since the AGM. Put simply MHAC requests a User Agreement to be
tabled before we pay for the hire of track , the Trustees seem to think it
should be the other way round! It really is more complicated than this.
I wish to keep members fully informed about the
negotiations that have been going on since I became Interim Chairman in mid
February. If you would like to see a letter I sent to Mr R Jackson-Smith and the
Trustees on behalf of the Committee on 12th May which summarises all these
negotiations and his response please contact me by email on
ted@yet2.demon.co.uk and I’ll send you a copy.
We have an EGM due on Wednesday 29th June, at a
venue to be confirmed, to discuss progress and make decisions about the future.
We hope to have made real progress by then so the full agenda must wait to see
what transpires. Please log the date in your diaries.
Best Wishes , Ted

First Aiders - can you help...
You may be aware, one of the
conditions set by Park Trustees for the club return to the track was the
provision of a qualified First Aider at each club session. At present they have
requested that this person's sole responsibility for the session is the First
Aid. The committee are aware that is is over staffing and are negotiating on
this point. However in the meantime we need qualified First Aiders, Nurses or
Doctors to staff the office.
1) Occasional sessions - you let us
know what you can do.
2) For a future list to be kept with
the First Aid Kits. (just to call upon if required)
Dr Liz Norris has already kindly sorted
the kits and staffed the office last week.
If you can help in any of the ways
stated above please email Steve Davies
